edit/draft/publish only shows title

I am an inexperienced user and have found WP very easy to use for all my posting until now. My most recent post is only showing the title. When I try to save draft it seems to update and then the post content is gone and I see only the title, when I try to preview it shows only the title. When I tried to publish it shows only the title – none of the post content shows even though it is there in the ‘edit’ window I’m typing in. When I save draft and click edit to open the post back up there is only the title I’ve changed browers from Explorer to Firefox but get the same issues. I’ve deleted all my cookies and cache to no avail.
It seems the post content just isn’t sticking, it isn’t registering – it isn’t there.
Please help – I’ve perused the help forums but can’t see what else to try…

I delete the post I published when I saw that it was only the title – and because I was trying different things to see if I could get it to work.
The post title, that I’m currently working on (and the title only is what saved as a draft) is called The test of the morality for a society is what it does for its children….
I’ll try and publish the post again this morning – thank you for any assistance!!

I just tried again. It is doing the same – showing only the title.

This is where I’m editing and it shows my whole post that I just typed out fine.
Then when I click preview/post/save draft this is all it does:

I’m not sure if this will help but I copied this from the bottom of the wp edit screen:

I have about 8 pages of text but it shows no word count and it isn’t showing the correct date/time – I was working on this late last night but it kept showing the afternoon time.

I’m very sorry, but none of this helps, because I can’t see any of the links you are giving me. Like most people on these forums, I’m just a user like you, not a staff member. I can only see content you actually posted.
Try to save your draft, wait and THEN preview.

Oh – well thank you for trying to help me!
I’ll try to save draft then preview – but so far whenever I’ve clicked to save draft it appears to be updating but then everything is gone except the title – the title is the only thing that sticks! This is the first problem I’ve had with WP.
I’ll try to save the draft again now.

Nope – doesn’t work at all – all my work, all my words – just gone whenever I do anything.
It is like it doesn’t see my typing, links, pics at all

oooo – I think something changed – after the last attempt when everything disappeared again I just typed a couple of words and hit save draft and it worked!
Is there a LIMIT to how big a post can be – could that be why it didn’t save?
I’m going to try and replace all that was lost and I’ll save as I go – though it used to do that on its own….
I appreciate the time you took to help – I’ll post back WHEN it all works ;)

AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh this is crazy.
I’ve been typing one paragraph at a time – saving draft after each one and everything was going fine. Now I just copied a couple of pics, hit save draft and it is ALL GONE again LOL…I’m going crazy.

It HAS to be the pics – I’m doing something wrong with the pics….at least I know what to focus on now and I can stop fussing with my browser lol

a) No, in theory there’s no limit to how big a post can be.
b) What browser and version are you using?
b) If you’ve been hitting Save Draft, the previously saved versions should be accessible in the Revisions module. If you’re not seeing the Revisions module while on the post editor screen, click Screen Options (top right) to enable it.
c) Setting the visibility to private and hitting Update is probably safer than hitting Save Draft.

Thank you for your message – I was using explorer first than switched to firefox.
Whenever I hit save draft the entire message disappeared until I tried adding it back bits at a time and hitting save draft after each paragraph – that’s how I discovered that it only deleted everything after I added a pic – I think I figured it out and I’m sure it was a newbie error – nothing an experienced user would have done.
I’m certain – or at least it seems – that it was the method by which I was adding pictures. I ‘think’ all is good now – phew – I appreciate your time!!!
