Edited pages disappear from parent page upon updating
-
HI, I’ve been working with this website for over 2 years now… suddenly, when we add a new page to another page, even when we give it a “parent” the first time, it shows up as a heading on our home page and I have to go to pages, edit, and give it a parent AGAIN.
Example; Main page: Teachers /next page: fourth grade,/ final page: homework. When the fourth grade teacher edits the homework page and clicks, “update,” the homework page disappears from the Teacher page and jumps to the home page headings menu. It just started to do this in the last few weeks. We then have to go to pages, find the heading, and give it it’s parent and then update again. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,

That would certainly be an upsetting problem. I wonder if this might be the result of not updating a page after assigning the parent.
The URLs of child pages have extensions upon the URLs of the parent page. For example:
- Parent: “Board of Ed” — http://scotlandelementaryct.com/board-of-education/
- Child: “Agenda” — http://scotlandelementaryct.com/board-of-education/agenda/
If what you say is true, then it appears that after being created, the URL http://scotlandelementaryct.com/board-of-education/agenda/, somehow spontaneously transforms into http://scotlandelementaryct.com/agenda/.
