Edited something in Classic Editor HTML but now am stuck in Block Editor – HELP!
-
Okay, so I use the Classic Editor exclusively – I want nothing to do with the Block or Classic Block. Normally my post text is always black, but I wanted to change the text color in one particular small section to red (#ff0000) so that readers will not miss it. So, I switched my input format (which I have done before, to insert jump links) and inserted the proper HTML tags at the start and end of that very short paragraph.
Unfortunately, I am now unable to get back to the normal Classic Editor view and am STUCK in the hated Block Editor. I have logged out and back in, using the same Admin URL prefix that was landing me in the Classic Editor before; still I cannot do anything in the Classic Editor anymore.
It was working fine before switched the Classic Editor input (and it also did not change the text color either, but that is small potatoes compared to the inability to get back into the Classic editor.
Inserting HTML tags should NOT affect which Editor is being used!
In the Classic Editor, I can choose the format (Visual or Text) tabs. How can I exit the Block Editor completely? I see no way to do that and am beyond unhappy.
(p.s. – Please do not tell me to “use the Classic Block”. That is not what I am asking. I know what the Classic Block is, and hate it only marginally less than the regular Block.)
Thank you.
p.p.s. Why can I not add tags to this topic? I guess they need to be added manually now? Gawd, I hate Gutenberg format soooo much…

UPDATE: Never mind, managed to get back into the Classic Editor. Now just have to figure out why the HTML tag didn’t work. :-/
