  updating a page on my site. edit, preview changes shows the correct edits. click on update. live page doesnt show changes

  Try clearing your website cache and reload the site. Plugins like W3 Total Cache, WP Super Cache, and Hyper Cache will help you clear your cache. These are all free services.
