    Hi @sdampier1, I’d recommend publishing a few posts with featured images so you’ve got your own content to work with. It will make your template editing a lot clearer:

    And edit or add static pages (like about) here:

    https://wordpress.com/pages

    Once you’ve got that, if you want to make changes to to the templates, you can use the site editor under Appearance > Edit. That will also let you adjust styles, too. We have more info here. Want to give this a go?
