Editing a landing page!

  • Unknown's avatar

I want to include landing pages from another site on my site but I would like to have them look similar, so is it possible to import them into my site and edit some elements?
Although my site is published as a Neve template, I am only enquiring if it’s possible
I know I can publish links to these landing pages, but there is a few edits needed on the landing pages like my logo and some text links I’d need to change. I’m not technically minded so messing with code is out for me, but if I could make a few edits I’d be happy with that

  • Hello there,

Happy to help you with this.

I want to include landing pages from another site on my site but I would like to have them look similar, so is it possible to import them into my site and edit some elements?

Are theses pages created with WordPress, using the same theme? I’d happily take a look and suggest what’s possible.

I know I can publish links to these landing pages, but there is a few edits needed on the landing pages like my logo and some text links I’d need to change. I’m not technically minded so messing with code is out for me, but if I could make a few edits I’d be happy with that

We can help with CSS on the the premium plan to remove some elements here and there. If things start to get out of scope, we’ll be sure to let you know, but from what I’m seeing, it could be possible to help.

Thanks for offering, there are about 8 pages all having a very similar layout, so I imagine similar templates. I just need to remove and replace the logo and add a few text links that take the viewer back to my site. I’m authorized to edit these as I have purchased the white Labelling and I have the rights to sell these apps!

Here’s an example of one: https://sales.videoappsuitehub.com/intro-outro-expert/

It’s obviously not a default WP template, but this page live on the net as are the other 7 pages. I’m informed by the seller that I can use any webpage editor to edit anything and everything I wish, but I’m struggling to find a free WYSIWYG one!

I’m grateful for any help, and thanks in anticipation!

    Kindest regards,
    Mike Commins

  • Hi Mike,

Thanks for the link; that’s very helpful!
From what I can see, the page you shared was not created using WordPress, so it’s not something you could import and edit here, I’m afraid.

You’d probably want to create your pages from scratch, using the elements from the existing site. Using blocks, you should be able to reproduce the layout without issues. You can also check out free patterns here: https://wordpress.org/patterns/; if there’s one you’d like to use, you can copy-paste it to your page and just edit the content.

If you’d rather focus on your site’s content in general, we can help you build your site for you. You can read more about that service here:

Thanks very much for your prompt reply, (I wish other companies I buy software from would be so prompt with support for their customers – I’m waiting now 4 days and counting, for an answer to this editing question from the vendors!)
However, because these pages are sales pages stored on their servers, I think it would be messy trying to build a copy and still need to use their link – as my original task was to simply replace the logo!
But I thank you for your input, very much appreciated!

    Kindest regards,
    Mike

  • Sorry to hear about your wait! I will add that I agree with my colleague that landing pages like that could be created in WordPress, which uses a WYSIWYG editor by default.

You may want to consider our Business Plan, which allows you to use the fully unlocked version of WordPress with the ability to add any plugin or theme to extend functionality. That plan also includes live chat support that is even more responsive than we can manage here in our public forums. More info here: https://wordpress.com/plans/

If you can share a URL to one of your current landing pages we’re happy to look and see if that can be recreated using the native functionality included in WordPress or solved by adding a plugin. Thanks for the additional info!

    Hi,
Thanks for your input. Here’s one of the 8 page templates that I am trying to edit by replacing the logo at the top of the page with my own!

I don’t wish to lay out any more money for what I think is a simple task and tbh I can live with simply linking to the pages, but for branding purposes, it would be nice. The creators of these landing pages (for which I have White Label rights) say it’s ‘super-easy’ to edit anything and everything with ‘any webpage editor’.
I discovered finding a free WYSIWYG is not that super-easy!
Any tips or solutions would be most welcome!

  • Hello Mike,

. The creators of these landing pages (for which I have White Label rights) say it’s ‘super-easy’ to edit anything and everything with ‘any webpage editor’.

It looks like this is a hardcoded HTML page… are you logging into a CMS of some kind?

I’d agree with you on that – the reason being is that WordPress WYSIWYG systems carry quite a lot of functionality.

Have you tried using the block editor with WordPress.com?

Just to add to this matter, I am able to download the pages into zip folders which holds the assets, images, www. etc. Would this make it easier to edit?

I’m afraid not unless you know how to edit HTML code. I would anticipate if you did you wouldn’t be looking for a WYSIWYG editor. But it also seems like this is a bit out of scope for what we can help with on the free support forums or with WordPress itself.

I would recommend waiting to hear back from the company who created the pages for you as they’ll be the best ones to make those changes for you and hopefully not bill you for it. Alternatively, you could search Google for “free HTML editor WYSIWYG” or “free visual HTML editor” to see what options there are if you just need to swap out the image file for your logo and reupload the page once you make the changes. But just so you’re aware, those editors will be similar to how the WordPress editor works and not like a word processing program like Word.

I hope that gets you pointed in the right direction.
