Editing a page

  How long does it take for changes to the content on a page to go live? When I look at the website through the My Site portal, the edits I made are visible, but when I check the website url the changes have not been updated. I clicked on ‘update’ after making my edits, so that can’t be the problem.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  The changes should be almost immediate.

  Hi, thanks for your reply.

  Here’s a link to the Contact page that I’ve been trying to edit (it looks updated within the My Site portal but not when I go to the website): https://wordpress.com/page/melvillecomms.wordpress.com/45

  The Contact page on the live website still has the wrong information ((email visible only to moderators and staff),…etc).

  The correct information is:
  Victoria Melville
  (email visible only to moderators and staff)
  01483 489009

  That is the correct information. However, if you type in the website URL in your browser and go to the Contact page you will see that the live website has NOT been updated. It still displays the old contact details: http://www.melvillecommunications.co.uk/home-4/contact/
  Hence, I’m wondering what the problem is? Are you able to fix it so that the information on the WordPress site updates on the live website? Surely, a simply tweak to a page shouldn’t be this difficult!

  Hi there –

  You’re looking at 2 different WordPress sites. There are 2 versions of WordPress. Here at WordPress.com and then self hosted WordPress sites.

  melvillecomms.wordpress.com is your WordPress.com site that shows the correct information.

  http://www.melvillecommunications.co.uk is a self hosted WordPress site through smart hosting.

  This guide outlines the differences between WordPress.com and self hosted WordPress:

  Are you trying to use http://www.melvillecommunications.co.uk on your WordPress.com account? If so, you’d need to set up Domain Mapping with WordPress.com our Personal Plan.

  I do not have any access to the self hosted site. For help with that site, as is, you would need to post at https://wordpress.org/support/
