Editing a post from Trash before republishing it?

  Hi, Please can someone advise me how to do the above.

  I accidentally published a blog post, instead of saving it to draft, I quickly deleted it to the trash folder as it was not ready for publication. How do I retrieve it from trash and put it back into draft status, without publishing it?

  If this is not possible, how can i find a copy of what i have written so that i don’t have to rewrite it again, is this possible?

  I think your best bet is to Restore the post, which will republish it, but then you can immediately revert it to draft status, which will unpublish it, and allow you to make the changes that you need.

  Then when you’re ready you can publish it for good.

  If i do this, will my subscribers get a copy of the restored post or does wp take a minute or two to register this, giving me time to quickly change the posts status?
