Editing an Image Stopped Working
-
Yesterday I was editing images for my blog without issue. Today the ‘Edit Image’ button appears to be missing when I’m looking at the image and it’s properties. I tried closing my browser and restarting my computer but I continue to have this problem. I am using Firefox.
I am trying to do a simple crop of an image. I already know about these instructions https://en.support.wordpress.com/images/editing-an-image/
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I just tested with Chrome. Same issue. Do I have a limit on the number of images I can edit with the free version of WordPress?

Ok, I JUST noticed this on the editing an image support site:
Note: While these image editing tools are free, the site must be set to public for the tools to work. Advanced image editing does not work with a site set to private.
Why did these features work yesterday then?? So frustrating. And such an odd feature to limit to public blogs only.

Hi manderee,
Why did these features work yesterday then??
I’ve checked on this for you and the privacy settings for manderee.wordpress.com were changed from public to private yesterday, which is why the editing options were working.
If you want to use the image editing tools but aren’t ready for your site to be indexed by search engines, you could set it to Hidden instead:

Ah – that makes sense now. Thank you for clarifying!! I think I will edit in Google Photos before importing.
Thanks again!
