Editing and publishing

Things have changed since I’ve been away from my website, and I’m not able to edit or publish my new pages. Please help.

Hi,
The classic editor has been retired.
The classic block is similar to the classic editor.

After I’d written out my new page (actually I copied it from my compuer, an article I’d written and filed), I attempted to update then publish it, and am told”Updating failed. Sorry, you are not allowed to edit this post.” Why can’t I publish when I press “Publish”?

Hi,
I read this suggestion from another post that may help with your issue.
Please try those suggestions from @kokkieh
and reply here with the results. -
Hi. The “Updating failed” error that you’ve described is an issue that is frequently encountered by those using the Block Editor. The suggestions pointed to by @ryrhino00 might be helpful, but it isn’t necessary, as suggested countless times in these forums by WordPress.com staff and volunteers, to use the Classic Block in the Block Editor to approximate the experience of the Classic Editor. The genuine Classic Editor itself is still available to every WordPress.com user, and it’s still free. How to access it is described and illustrated here, on page 3 of the topic block vs classic.
