Editing Category pages
-
Hi. I use the 2010 theme for and also in my testground (which is private). In the test ground have used the Custom Menu option to make a page which lists all the articles which are categorised “em Português”. That worked fine.
But… how do I get in there to edit the page? It does not appear on my Pages list. I want to write an introductory text – is this possible with my theme? For an example of what I want to accomplish, look at this page: Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
This is timethief logged in under my other username. Give me a minute or two to read what you posted please. -
The test blog link is to a private blog. Volunteers cannot view private blogs.
Dynamic categories pages are generated by the software. We cannot access theme and edit them in any way shape of form. You could create a Page and then make the Categories page into a sub-page of the parent page. Then you can type whatever you want in the Parent page.

Scroll down to: Custom menu walk-through

Ok – I had not realised the theme restricted access so I couldn’t edit that type of page – or more accurately, I feared it did but was hoping there was some way in I hadn’t figured out yet! Rats. Will try the workaround you suggest with parent page, thank you very much TT!

This is NOT a theme issue. We cannot edit any dynamic pages created by the software regardless of which theme we use. You’re welcome and best wishes. :)

Well, if all you want to do is “write an introductory text” – you could use the Category Description feature. Read this and see if it will accomplish what you want… http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2011/12/09/category-descriptions/.
Of course if you have any editing of content, you would need to edit the individual post.

That’s it! Thank you both, the category description solved it, and even better, I figured out how to add a link to the language-specific RSS feed to the description text, solving my RSS feed issues. Hurrah! Thanks!!
