Editing credits on the footer

  I need to add my credits to footer of my site, but i haven’t the Footer Widget Area One in appareance Panel, how i can get it?

  Hi there. If you’re fine with having the credits in a widget, you can add a text widget with the appropriate credits to your footer widget area under Appearance ->Widgets in the dashboard:

  The only way to edit the website footer itself is by using custom CSS, for which you’ll need the custom design upgrade. Also note you’re not allowed to remove the existing WordPress.com and theme credits, or your site will be suspended.

  Thanks for the help.
  The problem is that i don’t have the footer widget area in my dashboard, how can i add it?

  I had a look at the Stay theme you’re using. That theme in fact does NOT have a footer widget area. On your home page it has footer widgets, but not on any other page.

  If you go to Appearance ->Widgets you’ll see “Home First/Second/Third Widget Area”. You can add a text widget there to display on your home page, but you won’t be able to add that to your blog or static pages – those pages only have sidebar widgets.

  I finally figured out that my thema can’t manage footer credits. It’s the first time i use wordpress.org and it has a lot of limitations. I think is better to switch to an hosted wordpress site, but i don’t know how much difficult is migrating content. I’m going to check it on this site but if you have any advices will be appreciate.

  Actually, your site is on WordPress.COM. WordPress.org is the self-hosted option. And even on a self-hosted site I think you’ll need CSS to change the site footer, but there it’s not a separate upgrade you have to buy.
