Editing DNS A-record
-
I am trying to map my domain, which I bought at wordpress (www.sarahconradsen.com), to my tumblr website (tumblr.sarahconradsen.com)
Following your support documents, I tried to edit the DNS settings so the domain would point to the tumblr website, but I cant seem to get it to work. It seems I am unable to change the DNS A-record, which should point to: 66.6.44.4
The settings I have at the moment are:
A sarahconradsen 66.6.44.4
CNAME sarahconradsen domains.tumblr.com.Perhaps the syntax is wrong, or am I approaching this from the wrong way?
Thank you for your help! -
Hi there,
Let me make sure of what you would like before I suggest any steps!
Are you looking to point your entire domain at tumblr? Or are you looking to just point a subdomain (tumblr.sarahconradsen.com) at tumblr?
If the former, I will need to make the change for you. If the latter, you can do it yourself in the DNS section of your Dashboard. You can do it in one of two ways:
Via A record, where the record will look like this:
A tumblr 66.6.44.4Or via CNAME, where the record will look like this:
CNAME tumblr domains.tumblr.com.Let me know what you’d like to do!

Ah I just noticed, I gave you the wrong url in my first post. Sorry about the confusion.
What Id like to do is to point my entire domain at tumblr, so that when someone goes to http://www.sarahconradsen.com, they reach my tumblr website, which at the moment is: http://sarahconradsen.tumblr.com/, and not the wordpress website.
Can you make that change for me?
Thanks again for your help!Luka
