Editing Home Page
-
Hello there! I am editing my page right now, but it has not been published yet. I have saved each of my edits in order to protect the progress I have. So I just hit save again, then clicked out of where I was editing. I can view my page as it is when I click on ‘Holly Fasching Photography, Coming Soon’ in the top left of the home page. But when I then hit ‘edit,’ it shows me a completely blank page. I can see that all my progress has been saved, but I’m unsure how to continue editing.

Hi there, when I check your site, I see the logo and menu at the top, and a ‘featured image’ in the main content area (guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/). It doesn’t look like there’s other page content as such, beyond the template/layout though!
Am I understanding correctly that you don’t see content when you go to Pages and click on your front page to edit it?
If so then it sounds like you were wanting to work in the Site Editor instead, which is located under Appearance > Editor (beta). It’s a useful place to make changes to overall aspects of your site such as colour scheme, how your menu and logo appear and templates that apply to all pages.
There’s a guide here for the Site Editor:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/site-editor/However when you edit a page from your Pages section, the site layout (menu at the top, featured image) won’t appear directly in the editor view; that’s expected! Your content that you add there will show up on the published page, set into the layout you created in the Site Editor (and below the featured image). We do also have an overview for the page/post editor:
