Editing Home Page Text
-
On my home page, I have my top services and products featured. Currently, the feed pulls each page’s body text as the preview text for that featured serviced on the home page. I want to edit it so that my home page only features a short blurb under the featured services, not the actual body text from that page. Does that make sense?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Mallory,
Currently, I don’t see any content on your blog americanmademeals.com. Is this the blog you’re referring to? If not, can you point me to the correct site? I’ll be able to help more once I see this in action!

Hi Jeremy,
Thanks so much for you help. Here is the correct blog: http://premierentrysystems.com/
As you can see, the “Gates” and “Service & Repair” sections are fixed appropriately, but we had a developer do that. I don’t want to pay the developer to fix the other four sections. Any idea of how I can edit that preview text?
Thanks!

Hey Mallory,
It looks like that site is actually self-hosted using WordPress.org software. You’ve reached support for WordPress.com blogs. You can read more about the difference here:
Since your site is self-hosted, I can’t directly access your site files, nor am I super familiar with your theme. However, my suggestion would be to explore using post excerpts as explained here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/excerpts/
Some themes allow you to use the post excerpt to customize the text that is displayed.
