Editing Mibo Pro

    Can I edit the space on the mimbo pro theme that is between the header and the columns?
    Also would I be able to add a picture where it says recent stories?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

    I suspect we can target that area (between header and columns), but could you possibly take a screenshot of the exact area you’d like made smaller? I don’t think I’m looking at quite the same spot.

    Here’s a bit more information about how to take a screenshot:

    It looks like the “recent stories” section is not a widget, but is instead part of the theme template, so it is essentially static.

    On a sidenote, I’m based not too far south of Buffalo!

    Cheers!

    Thank You for the assistance that you gave. I was indeed talking about the recent stories section, now I know that that is a static section. Would it be possible to add a banner image directly under that instead?

  • Hi again,

    So you can actually do what you were originally asking – you can add a background image to the “recent stories” section, if you add this CSS:

    #recent {
    background: url(YOURIMAGEURL);
    min-height: 190px;
    font-size: 0;
    }

    the text YOURIMAGEURL should be a proper image URL – you can upload an image to your media gallery and then copy the full URL from there. For best results, make sure the image is 190px high by 254px wide.

    This will remove the text, so your recent stories won’t appear.

    Does this help?

    Yes this was incredibly helpful, thank you for the assistance.

    Is there also a way for the image that I upload to not be tiled?

  • Sure!

    You just need to add “no-repeat” here:

    background: url('http://ubgraduateeconomics.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/university-at-buffalo-logo.jpg?w=150') no-repeat;

    If the image is smaller than the space (as it is), it won’t expand to fill the space – just FYI.
