Editing my daughter's blog

My daughter asked WordPress to send me an invitation to be able to edit her blog, called Hautecancer. I wanted to try reversing the order of her posts, especially to make sure the one she wants to appear at the top (which is now at the bottom) gets repositioned. But I am confused: first, I seem not able to do any editing. The way this is set up for me (as ‘editorchico’) I think you expect me to start my own blog.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

First off, I see you’ve been added to the site as an Editor, not and Admin, which limits to some degree what you’re able to do. But if you only want to position one post at the top you should be able to do that as an editor. Editors can make changes to all posts and pages on a site, so if you’ve accepted the invitation you should be able to do that using your account.

What you need to do is go to My Site ->Posts and edit the post in question. Click where it says PUBLISHED [date] above the Update button, and toggle the button next to Stick to the front page. Then update the post. Sticky posts will always appear at the top of the blog feed, no matter when they were originally published.

If you want to completely reverse the order of the posts you will need to use a custom menu link instead, and the posts won’t appear re-ordered on the front page, but only on a different page. Let me know if you want more instructions to do that.
