  • Hi there,

For the most part, changing your theme is a lot like changing the clothing on a mannequin. Your content (pages, blog posts, uploaded media) don’t go anywhere or change that much… they just assume the style of the new theme

In this case that is working against you since you were using another theme before switching to Appleton, so your site will still show it’s old contents (and not the new demo design) unless you specifically choose the demo homepage option when you switch themes.

I have added the demo homepage to your site and you will see it now when you visit. Please note that your current pages were all set to “draft” and it is not possible to show a draft page as your site homepage, so I have set up a second homepage (which is public) instead.

If you wish for your site to be private, I would instead recommend that you set it to “coming soon” or “private” under the site visibility options here: https://wordpress.com/settings/

This will allow you to publish pages (so you can correctly set up your site) without making those pages public on the internet. Once everything is to your liking you can then launch the site later down the road.

Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
