Editing Photos on wordpress.com

  I have uploaded my own background image and it is distorted, huge and grainy. I want to make it fit better etc. I just learned that wordpress.com has not plugins. How I can work with photos then? is there a trick?

  Hi,

  You can edit photos after having uploaded them to your Media library. From your dashboard, go to Media -> Library, then select the image you wish to resize and click on edit. See if this support doc helps: Image Editing.

  If you really want to edit your images, I would recommend doing so on your computer prior to uploading them to WordPress.com. There are numerous free programs available. http://en.support.wordpress.com/media/image-optimization/

  The in-dash image editor is one option, but in my opinion, not the most user-friendly.

  I agree with justjennifer. I presize and optimize every image prior to uploading it. The results are:

  • no loss of image quality;
  • no waste of my free media storage space;
  • no troubleshooting images.
