Editing published post images

I changed the image associated with a single blog post – and the image isn’t changing in my “published” notification on FB. I tried de-selecting publish, tried update. I couldn’t get the image on the published notification to change, to wysiwyg with the blog image. The only way I could figure to do it is to delete the post on PB – which would delete ALL previous FB posts, as I understand it, then start over.

Is it possible to edit images once they’re published to other platforms?

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

Once the notification is sent to Facebook or another platform, any additional changes you make to the post won’t be reflected on the other platform. That’s because we send out a notification when you first publish the post. If we sent out updates after that, you’d end up with a new post on that platform any time you updated the post, which probably isn’t what you’re going for. :)

Instead, you can delete that one Facebook post if you want to update it — that won’t affect the other notifications published to Facebook before or after that. Then, you can post the link to Facebook manually to grab the new image.

You may also want to run the post through Facebook’s debugger, to make sure it grabs the new image (instead of using an older image saved in its cache):

Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)
