Editing Robots.txt or eqivilent
-
Hi,
I am trying to get access to my robots.txt file which would be easy on a self hosted website but on WordPress.com I don’t have direct access to my files. The end goal is to stop one or two image files from being searched by Google and usually I’d just disallow them in the Robots.txt file. Is there a way to access the file or another method entirely?

If you are referring to a site hosted by wordpress.COM you cannot accomplish that.

I have set up testing5227.wordpress.com to find out the answer for a friend. Personally I always self host so I can play around with these things.

Hi there,
There is no way to prevent image files from being indexed on a public WordPress.com site, no. The site is either fully public, or fully hidden from search engines.
