Editing spun theme

  I’ve been trying to edit this theme on wordpress.com to do the following:

  I just want to adjust the CSS coding so that:

  1) Turn the circles into squares
  2) Ensure the title of each postings appears neat and clean within each of the squares
  3) The background of each square should be a solid soft color, each new posting will have a new color background.

  I purchased the customize upgrade but I still have limited ability to adjust anything, can anyone help??
