Editing suggestions in email notifications

Happiness Engineer thatrobyn suggested I post this here:
Wouldn’t it be great if bloggers could edit the suggested blogposts that go out to folks when they like a post? Apparently, right now it’s just an algo that randomly chooses some posts (not sure how it selects them) but if we bloggers could could choose the 3 posts that we think would be the best advertisement for our site, that might help us attract more readers. Just wondering… :)

Frankly I don’t want to send anyone a thank you for liking any post on my blog. If they choose to comment that would be great. If they are just like button clicking I am not impressed by that because there are so many spam button spammers. At present we cannot delete the individual likes others leave on our posts even those that are from obvious like button spammers. All we can do is what’s here.

I’m with you on the spam thing but I’m not talking about thanking someone for liking my post either. :) I’m talking about what you see about someone when they like your post if they have that option checked under Discussion Settings/Email Whenever. If they don’t have that checked, they don’t see this email anyway. You can’t control whether others check or don’t check the box but I was wondering if someone *does* get an email notification about my blog and this email contains some sample blog posts to entice them to read further, can I get to choose which links they will see? Thassall. But yeah that spammer like/follow thing is annoying.
