Editing Table content with Visual Editor

I seem to have lost the ability to use Visual Editor to edit a Table on a page. Ok using Text Editor and html. theme 2011

Can you give me a link to the post you’re having trouble with? I need the link you use to view the post itself in your browser, please, not the editor link.
I’m not sure exactly what’s wrong here, though. The visual editor has never supported table editing. Tables can only be inserted using HTML, and most changes to existing tables will also require you to use the HTML view of the editor. You should be able to edit the content of existing cells in the visual editor view, but that’s about it.

I created the Table using HTML in the HTML view of the editor.
I have always been able to edit the content of the existing cells in the Visual Editor but have suddenly found that I can no longer do so. I was able to add links to individual cell contents etc.

I have tried both. Neither work at the moment. If you try to click on any cell the cursor moves to the next line after the Table.

Visual Editor works on other Pages. The problem is only when trying to use it within the Table on my Events Page.

Thanks for the extra information. I tested the table on the Events page and I’m able to select the text in each cell and click the formatting/link buttons on the editor. This works in both the new interface and your WP Admin dashboard.
If you haven’t done so already, please try clearing your browser cache:
Does that help or are you unable to edit this table?

@draspas8391 We’ve tried replicating this issue here but haven’t been able to yet.
Can you let us know what browser you’re using, and which version?
Do you have the same issue in other browsers?
Are you using any extensions that could be affecting things?
Also, we’re looking at https://stargrouptrials.co.uk/2016-2/ — I’m wondering if it’s the particular cell you’re editing or what you’re trying to put in it, so can you let us know which one?

Just tried Internet Explorer and everything works OK
The problem effected every cell. I have just added a Link to Programme cell for Talmag Trial successfully using IE.

Thanks. Looks like this is actually a bug with the Core WordPress software – it has also been reported in https://wordpress.org/support/topic/table-bug-with-edge-plugin-needs-update-to-4-7-13/, and it is being tracked in https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/44134
So, for now there’s not much we can do until it gets fixed on Core’s end, but once it’s fixed there we should be able to implement it here quickly.
For now, please use a different browser to edit your tables, though I’d recommend you install Chrome or Firefox rather than IE :)

I have just downloaded and installed Chrome and everything is OK on that too.

Glad we could figure it out. It looks like this should be fixed in the next Core release, so hopefully you won’t have long to wait.
