editing the dashboard
-
This is probably very much a newbie question but I can’t find an answer to it after much searching.
Is there a way to edit the dashboard options. Say if I wanted to get rid of the Comments and the blogroll tabs? Either for the admin or for the editors users group.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Jamie -

Thanks for the reply raincoaster. I’m surprised there is’nt a way though. For instance if you log-in as an editor some of the tabs are not available. ie Presentation.
So I would have thought somewhere there must be some code which could be edited. I’m considering using wordpress as a very basic cms system for a website job I have coming up soon. Blogroll, comments, presentation et al will be redundant tabs so I was hoping to get rid of them.

You can consider lowering the other contributor’s level of access to author which would probably take out their access to those areas.

Thanks sacred. That actually helps as only the comments tab is left.
I’m sure someone who really knew what they were doing with php could customize the dashboard themselves. Unfortunately I wouldn’t have a clue.

We don’t have access to the underlying theme and wordpress files since this is a multi-user platform and we all use the same files. If you went in and changed something, it would effect everyone.
