Editing the home page

    Hi there,

    I’ve been trying to give my website a new look and I’m struggling with the change of theme. I’ve been really troubled with the home page design: when I’m on the editing page everything shows up as it should but once I preview in a new tab after updating the page shows up empty.
    The other pages still need a few corrections on fonts and colors but their core is alright, the home page is stressing me out… could you please help?

    I tried to contour the problem and binned the homepage for now, built a whole new page with the same visuals as the other one. Everything was showing up on the preview and even after publishing it. But as soon as I set it a Homepage the same thing happens: the page shows up empty (only a paragraph of text and the menu) but on the editor everything is as I wanted… I’m really going crazy with this. Would really appreciate some help

    Hi! It sounds like your homepage template in the Site Editor is missing the “post content” block which is what makes your design in Pages > your new homepage show up in the live view/preview. This is the guide for the Post Content block:

    If you head over to Appearance > Editor (beta) then this will open the Site Editor. It looks like the page editor but is intended for general site appearance (layout/templates, colour scheme, fonts, etc). This is the guide for it:

    When you’re in the Site Editor it should normally open your front page template by default; if you insert the Post Content block there and save the change, then the next time you preview your new homepage it should show the content you’ve been working on.
