Editing the HTML on my website

  How exactly do I implement an application into being able to edit the HTML code directly? I’m new to this, and am really confused.

  First off, wordpress themes are not written in HTML, they are PHP script (with a little HTML here and there).

  We cannot edit the underlying theme files here at wordpress.COM. This is a multi-user platform which means we all share the same underlying theme and wordpress files. Any change by one person would change it for everyone using that theme.

  If you have CSS editing experience, you can get the Custom Design Upgrade, which will allow you to stylize the themes here, but it does not allow you to change the functionality. CSS is also themes specific so you cannot use the CSS from one theme with another theme. Before buying the upgrade, you can go to appearance > Custom Design and to the CSS tab and wordpress has provided a preview function where you can try out changes before you buy the upgrade.

  So how do I do things like delete “Blogroll” and “Meta” from the right side of my screen off my website?

  YOu go here > Appearance > Widgets and install the widgets of your choice. Drag and drop them into position, click to open. Then configure and click “save” and “close”. If you don’t want any to appear in your sidebar then install an ampty text widget click to open, click “save” and “close”.

  Right, I’ve tried all of that, but it’s still not deleting what I want.

  http://shad0wspark.wordpress.com/home/ is my URL, and i want to get rid of “Blogroll”, “Meta”, “Admin”, “Log in”, and the stuff at the bottom. How do I do that?

  Every theme has a deafult display of what appears to be widgets that aren’t. We can overide that default display. If you do as I said above and (1) either install widgets of your own choice to overide that default display here Appearance > Widgets or (2) install a single empty text widget as I described above to eliminate all sidebar display, then you will achieve what you want to do.
