Editing the text box within the slider
-
I am currently trying to adjust the slider in a friends website. We are using the Superstore theme and we are trying to alter the box (transparent and black) in which the Slide title and text (caption?) are located. We are aiming to make it smaller as well as to minimize the title of the slides. It has been suggested that this may be edited through custom.cs, but I am unsure of what I am looking for and how to edit it. Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated.
Thnx -
Please provide the URL for the blog in question in the form of an active link starting with http:// and understand that all CSS editing is theme specific editing. These may be helpful while you are waiting:

That means either
(1) you are posting to the wrong support forum about a WordPress.ORG software install that we do not provide support for. WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support forums. Read the differences here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there.

WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Pageor:
(2) You expect to be able to upload a third party theme into a WordPress.COM hosted blog when that is not possible. The only themes we can use on WordPress.com hosted blogs are licensed and adapted to run on our multiuser software the themes are found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and in your dashboard at > Appearance > Themes
There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.com blogs for security reasons and we cannot:
upload any third party themes,
create child themes,
create our own themes,
edit templates,
create own own layouts,
or use stylesheets from other themes.Relevant support docs:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/adding-new-themes/You cannot upload any third party themes into a WordPress.COM hosted blog so be clear on that. There is no upgrade you can purchase here that changes that reality.
WordPress.org offers free software that you can install on a web server. You can create themes, upload and install themes and plugins, run ads, and edit the database, etc. If you want FTP access and to install plugins or third party themes into a site then you will have to hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and set up your own WordPress.org install.
Bottom line: I asked for a URL and if you had provided it that huge block of text would not have been required. We provide support here only for WordPress.COM hosted blogs, and we cannot provide accurate answers to any blogger who fails to provide the exact URL starting with http:// for the exact blog they refer to so we can verify where it is hosted.

@emmagair, I would suggest asking about the Superstore theme over at WooTheme’s support. Best of luck.
