  • Unknown's avatar

Hi, my wife and I both have a WordPress.com site. However it is proving impossible to be edit both of them from one PC (Win10 / Chrome).
I can only log into one and when I log into the other I get reconnected to the first.
It also seems to setting both passwords the same
Is there a solution or something I’ve missed?
    Regards

    Hi,

I can only log into one and when I log into the other I get reconnected to the first.

The easiest way to access two accounts at the same time is to use different browsers for each. However, there may be another way that I’m unaware of, so I’ll call for staff attention. Staff will respond here.

If you log out of one account, and then try to log into the other on the same browser only to find that you’re logged into the first instead, then the issue is saved cache and/or cookies. Clear the browser cache and cookies before attempting to log into the second site on the same browser.

  • Hi Kenn,

It sounds like your browser is not properly logging you out when you try to switch accounts. See if deleting WordPress.com cookies after logging out, as suggested above, make any difference.

If you’re using Chrome, I would suggest you use that browser’s built-in user profile feature. Create a profile for you, and one for your wife. Then you can each log into your own WordPress.com accounts within your respective profiles, and then you can switch between accounts by just switching which browser profile is active.

Our need was to edit both sites at once, so we can copy features and set up from one to the other.
The work-around suggested by musicdoc1, to use two browsers, seems like our best solution – Chrome is my normal preferred browser, but I can use Edge for the second site, this being a Win10 PC.
Don’t know what I’d do if I wanted to use a third site!

  • I’d recommend doing what @kokkieh suggested and create profiles on Chrome for you and another one for your wife. This way you can keep using the same browser, but with two different accounts on each window.
