Editing widget areas
-
Some of the newer themes are adding boxes to the home page and the content is in a widget area. But as far as I can tell you have to add html to add images or layout. There is no wysiwyg editor. Is there a way to add the content using an editor?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

For me, I an navigate to Themes >>> Customize and then Widgets to get there. It looks like this for me: https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/
Will that help you?

Hi!
One way I can think of would be using the text widget ( https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/text-widget/) and something like: https://html-online.com/editor/ to get an idea of what it would look like. It is a few extra steps but does give you some idea of what it would look like before you save the widget’s text. :)
Hope that helps!

For a widget “editor” – I “draft” my widget content in a post. You can add images, etc. then when you get it like you want it to appear in your widget, you can copy and paste it into the widget. Not perfect, but takes care of most situations.
