Editing Window settings

In the edit window (Twenty-ten Theme), I’ve encountered two problems in the last month or so. The sizing of the editing window, which can be adjusted by dragging and stretching the lower right-hand corner automatically reverts to the smaller default size after saving the draft post. You can no longer set the window size by customizing on the Settings-Writing page as you could before (say, to maybe 30 or 40 lines) and have it remain at your customized size. The only way to adjust the size is stretching the page, but it doesn’t keep the setting. I know I can also use the “clutter-free” mode, but it doesn’t have handy the additional “kitchen-sink” tools that I frequently use when writing/editing.

Also, when saving a draft in the visual edit mode, it reverts to the “text” mode, and I have to click the “visual” tab to restore. Not a huge problem, but it is a bit annoying. It also reverts to the “non-kitchen sink mode” on the tool bar which I like to keep on “kitchen sink” mode. This didn’t occur before.

None of these individually are major issues, but it does add to the amount of unnecessary adjustments that I have to make in order to create new posts. Any ideas as to why these functions have changed? Or am I missing something or doing something incorrectly?
