Editor and Jetpack nonfunctional

Advance warning: My site/blog is Mature content.

Hello to everyone reading this. I’m fairly new to WordPress, and I’m having a problem I can’t solve. A few days ago, I stopped being able to create and edit posts and drafts. Whenever I try to, it just loads a blank white page. I also can’t edit other pages or my site as a whole, and Jetpack stats also isn’t loading. Everything else (dashboard, basic site views for the last week, and most other dashboard-y pages) seems to be working fine, and I can also view all my posts that are already published no problem.

Has anyone ever encountered this problem before, and is there any solution? The AI “help” was little help, and I have a free account so I don’t have direct support.

Thank you to anyone who has anything!

Okay, update: they seem to be working now, possibly intermittently.

I confirm that they are working only intermittently. Sometimes they load, sometimes they don’t. I can’t identify any pattern.

  • Hi there,

I’m not able to reproduce this on my end, when I go to create or edit a post it appears to work as expected, which leads me to believe this may be a browser issue. Do you have a second browser you can test this in, or would you mind testing clearing your browser’s cache? https://wordpress.com/support/browser-issues/#clear-your-browser-cache

Let us know if this works or if anything else comes up and in the meantime have a great rest of your day.

I cleared my cache. Same problem. I tried a second browser. Same problem. But it has worked a couple of times without me doing anything different at all. It still usually doesn’t work though.

I’ve still only been using WordPress for a few months, so bear with me, but I want to explain what is not working in more detail.

When I’m on my “home” page, everything works fine. When I go to “posts”, everything looks fine. When I view a post or preview a draft, everything looks fine. When I visit my site, everything looks fine. On “Dashboard”, a bunch of things that would normally load don’t; these include newsletter subscribers count, daily prompt, and Jetpack stats (small box at the bottom of the screen). When I go to the “stats” or “Jetpack social” screens, nothing loads. When I try to open up a new post, edit a draft, or edit a previously published post in the editor, it loads a blank white page.

I have tried Firefox and Chrome, both with caches cleared. I have a free account.

Another thing I just noticed: the AI Assistant no longer appears either, when I click on Customer Support. This is something that was working before.

And now, as a write this, these things are working again, within the same browsing session. Maybe some of the site features are loading slowly. Is that a plausible issue? If so, what could be causing it?

I apologize for talking so much. I just want to make sure I’m communicating all of the relevant information. Thank you so much to anyone who can help me in any way.

  • Hi there!

Thanks for all the details—that’s really helpful. To summarize: the post editor, Jetpack Stats, Jetpack Social, and some dashboard widgets are loading intermittently (sometimes blank, sometimes working), and this happens across both Firefox and Chrome even after clearing your cache.

Since the issue is intermittent and affects multiple Jetpack-powered features, this points to something on the browser or network side interfering with how your device connects to our services. Let’s try a few more things:

    1. Share your browser info: Visit https://www.whatsmybrowser.org/ and share the URL next to the green “Share this link” button in your reply—this helps us see your exact setup.
    2. Clear your browser cache and cookies (I know you’ve done this, but let’s make sure we’re thorough): https://support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache
    3. Make sure your browser is fully up to date. If not, try the latest version of Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, or Microsoft Edge.
    4. Disable any content blockers (like Adblock, uBlock, Privacy Badger) and any other browser extensions temporarily.
    5. If you’re using Safari, uncheck “Prevent cross-site tracking”: https://support.apple.com/en-ca/guide/safari/sfri40732/mac
    6. If you’re on an iOS or macOS device, turn off iCloud Private Relay: https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT212614
    7. Try a different device and network—for example, your phone on mobile data (5G/LTE) instead of WiFi. This helps us rule out any network-level filtering or firewall issues.
