Editor eats my categories

@sceisusers: It’s a WordPress bug.
Some madman got the idea to “fix” Categories.
Unfortunately, the rest of WP staff didn’t know he meant it in a veterinary way.

As of app 9PM EDST Wednesday, still not fixed. Even though I got disgusted and stopped posting to my blog today, I did do some drafts to complete tomorrow. Cats still disappearing on me, dammit.

As of 9:14AM EDST Thursday, I have had success with three posts and correct Categories appearing.
I hope this is not a fluke and it means it’s been fixed.
Still no official word from Support about this.
But perhaps WP took it seriously and locked up the code demons overnight to get it done.

Every time I add the categories, they show up for awhile, but soon disappear. As a result, certain posts have never shown up in the categories page.
I’ve just added a few again, I’ll have to wait and see if they stick around;

I’ve done several posts now this morning. Categories work properly. I think it’s safe to say they squashed the bug.
Now if they would only get rid of Most Used and give me back All Categories as my default! Most Used is worthless to me.
