Editor inserting blank when displaying

  I have a page (not a blog page) that relies upon block elements being placed with no space in between. I have an ………<img…./> followed by the next <div>.

  When the page is viewed there is a blank line between the and the <div> that is caused by a <p></p> line that does not show in the editor. I can’t make the <p> tag into display:none or I won’t see any of my text!

  Where is this coming from and how can I prevent it?
