Editor stopped working?
-
RIGHT ON MMSLO!
That was going to be my next suggestion.
I always subscribe to my own rss feeds.
That way I always have copies of what I publish (from the offline blog editor and from the rss feed. -
Thank you neworderrr – I have. But no matter where I look I can’t find the word “Private” anywhere. I don’t know that function…
-
Nothing in my RSS either… this is honestly rediculous. Can somebody in charge please just tell me where my post went?
-
@universalgeni
-> Manage -> Posts
Now look for the -> Status button and click it
the drop down choices are
Any
Published
Draft
Private
check them all one at a time by clicking “Filter” after each selection
Next in the drop down menu select “Drafts” and “Any” date
Now click “Filter” and look for your postIf that is not a success and the post was published you may be able to find it in Google’s cache.

when you edit a page, (when I edit)
i have MANAGE (dashboard, write, manage, comments),
then PAGES selected (Posts, pages, uploads)on right side, of totle and comments as i EDIT, i have…
discussion, page status, password, page parent, etc.Click ‘+’ to expand the Page Status to find private, published and draft
or, what Time said :)

I was just thinking that it would be a good thing when you sign up for WordPress and when singing in to edit posts to get a notification every so often to suggest the RSS use for backup, or to use an offline editor for safety’s sake. Like the help tips you get in some programs at startup, ya know?
-
Is the editor playing up again? It’s ignoring my edits (after I save, edits are reversed) on an unpublished post. And it doesn’t show me the Code view – keeps showing me Visual. The code tabs is highlighted and I then can’t switch back to the other Visual tab.

@universalgeni
The screenshot you have shows me a different thing from what I see on my own blogs. I don’t have a clue why you don’t have “private” because I do. -
I don’t have a Drafts option either, TT. Perhaps that option is only there when you actually have Drafts… ?
Anyway.. I’ve emailed whoever I could about this. I truly hope my post is returned to me.

@universallgeni
The pulldown list will only show “private” (or any of the other “status” designations if there is something with that status designation currently in your files. If there is no “private” in the pulldown, you might be out of luck unless staff can somehow pull a rabbit out of their hat. -
When one wants to save a post as “Private” what should one do?
Edit: I found it: Post Status!

@sassifer
I’m surprised to hear you do not have the “drafts” selection under status. If indeed you are looking where I sent you to look. Manage -> Posts ->
Look at the very top line:Search terms… – Status… – Month… – Category… – Filter

Every time create a post or page you have access to a set of blue buttons on the far right hand side of the page outside the editor box. Click the one that says “Post Status” and what do you see?
Support is closed for the day folks. It will open again between 9-5 PM Pacific.

@universal
In the blue sidebar section to the right in the write post page there is a section called “post status”. You would set it there. -
The different designations under “status” will only appear on the pulldown IF there is something with that particular status, at least that is how it has always been for me.
-
Knowing that I know enough to get myself in trouble, i wouldnt save anything else to the pages until a reply is gotten from Tech. Also, have you tried going back in your browser to find your editing? I know it’s a noob question to ask, but i gotta ask it.

@thesacredpath
Ahhh … I see. I have so many under every status there could ever be so I’m viewing the whole enchilada.
