Editor switches to text mode upon save
-
Every time I save or schedule/update a post, the editor switches to Text mode, and I have to click the Visual tab to return to Visual mode.
Is this a setting I can manage, or is this a bug?:
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey Jim,
This is actually a small bug that is appearing with Chrome and Internet Explorer. Basically, your preferred editor is saved within a cookie profile, but there are some issues with that currently. We’re working on getting it resolved.
In the meantime, you should be able to correctly set your preferred editor within the WordPress.com editor here:
If you set it to Visual then update a post or save a draft, it should set your preferred browser on your Dashboard as well. Can you give that a try?

That’s not working for me. But if this is a known bug, I’ll live with it in hopes that it’s fixed in an update pretty soon. Thanks! -Jim

Hey Jim,
Sorry – this looks like it requires a few steps. I was having some trouble on my end as well, but I experienced success with the following method:
- Clear your cache as described here:
- Login to WordPress.com
- Go to http://wordpress.com/post
- Start a new post titled whatever you would like (it’s just for testing). Make sure you’re in the Visual Editor and click “Preview”. This saves the draft.
- Now, go to your Dashboard and try to edit a post. It should stick to the Visual editor now.
Can you give those steps a try?
