Editor window behavior changed

  • Unknown's avatar

When I edit a post the text wraps at the same location as the published post regardless how wide I make the browser screen.

That makes it easier to plan the layout of the post.

Tonight the editor stretches the sentences to however wide the browser window is.

I can load a picture (640 pixels wide, and that gives me a visual as to where the text will end up, but I’m wondering if something changed at your end.

I made no changes at my end that I know of, however the custom fonts package was supposed to renew today or tomorrow, and I wonder if that would have caused this annoying behavior.

I would really appreciate help in setting it back to the previous behavior, but I’m concerned it’s a change WP made to the editor.

I say that because the font in the editor is not the same as that in the finished post, and neither is the caption font for the pictures.

Before I waste my time going through all the settings, I want to make sure it’s even possible to restore the desired behavior.

Just to summarize what that was . . . when editing/creating a new post, the text would wrap to the width of the published post. Now it does not; it wraps to the width of the browser window.

Thanks for any help resolving this.

    Hi there,

We had a small issue with the post editor yesterday, and it appears to have been fixed. Can you let me know if you’re still experiencing this issue after clearing your browser cache and reloading WordPress.com?

I did not have to clear the cache or reload WP.

It’s now working as it did.

    Thanks.
