Editor window is too narrow
-
Hello,
I currently use the free WordPress site and am trying to edit a page, but the editor window is MUCH more narrow than it used to be. It makes it very hard to try to edit anything, because it isn’t at all close to true on how it will look when published. When I tried looking up how to fix it online, all I could find was a code to insert into the website to ‘fix’ it, which as a free user, I cant do (example here: https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/338757/why-is-the-new-gutenberg-editor-so-narrow-and-how-to-make-it-wider )
Here are some screenshots of my problem:
Example of the editor: https://blairtales.files.wordpress.com/2023/01/editor1.png
Example of how it looks published:

Can someone help, please? Have I done something wrong?

Hi! I’m actually not too sure what’s going on there but I suspect that this may possibly help (and you can always undo it if it doesn’t!):
- Head into Appearance > Editor (beta)
- Choose the “Blank” template to edit it
- Open the setting panel which usually appears on the right side, and make sure you have your “post content” block selected
- Toggle off the “Inner blocks use content width” button (it’s part of the layout settings mentioned briefly here: https://wordpress.com/support/site-editing/theme-blocks/post-content-block/#block-settings )
I see that your cover blocks are set to full width so it looks like they’re doing what they should on the front end; but within the editor I believe that toggle may be affecting how you see the content.
