Editors cannot edit another editors post using BBB

I have 3000+ posts written by some 50+ editors on my blog, and we share reposibility for keeping them up-to-date.
Using the Classic Editor, all admin and all editors are allowed to edit posts written by anyone.
However, since switching to BBB, I have observed the following.
Admin can only modify someone else’s post if they first change the Author of the post to themselves. This is unsatisfactory since it removes the record of who wrote the post.
Editors cannot modify someone else’s post because they do not see the option that would allow them to change the author.
This rather contradicts the roles as defined by you. What can an editor do that an author cannot.
Please bear in mind that I have 50+ Editors. Teaching them how to jump through hoops to use the Classic Editor is not an option. Searching 3000 posts in the list of posts would be a real pain – especially given that they would be looking at the post they want to edit. However, this is the only option currently available.

I found the report for this bug while looking through our records and can see that our developers rolled out a fix. I was also unable to replicate it in my testing. Could you let me know if this is still an issue for you?

While testing this, I found I was able to view and modify other people’s posts on sites I was listed as an Editor for. Could you confirm if the Editors on your site are able to access the following page:
https://wordpress.com/posts/brickiesgazette.wordpress.comAlong the top here, they can filter for My Posts, All, Published, Drafts, Scheduled, and Trashed. There’s also the option to search for posts on the right.
Although I was able to edit other people’s posts, I couldn’t do the same for pages. While attempting to edit pages while logged in an Administrator and Editor, I was led to a blank page with an error. I’ve reported this back to our developers.
Please could you test out the first couple of issues you reported to me? If let they’re still persisting for you then I’d be happy to do some further digging into the causes.

I can assure you that’s it’s still current and that all the editors are editors on that web site.
Don’t forget that my site is set as Private. Could this make a difference.
BTW This is affecting 50 editors on my site, so I have 50 or so people who can vouch that it is not working and not a single editor for whom it works.

Hi there.
The blog I was testing on was also private so I’m wondering if there’s something else going on. Can you let me know if your Editors are seeing an error message when attempting to modify the posts on your site? I’m going to get this back to our development team to take a deeper look into.
