edits that disappear
-
On several occasions today I have experienced witnessing edits I have made to a draft post simply disappear into the mist. Although we do have autosave and it indicates it’s “working” I’m about to challenege that. Luckily I back-up before I “save” or “publish” but doing the same thing over and over is frustrating.
I understand that wp.com has multiple servers and I may being seeing cached copies but I am not posting asking for help. I came to the forum to see if others are experiencing this too (no sticky post as yet), prior to concluding it’s blog specific and contacting staff.

I don’t trust the autosave at all (I never do in any application). I always use “Save and Continue Editing” up until the point I’m ready to either Save and go to something else or Publish. By doing so, I haven’t had any problems. I have 3 drafts and published a couple of entries today. I must’ve clicked the Save and Continue at least 20 times in all of that. So far I haven’t lost anything.

Yes well, I was looking for those who are experiencing the same problem. As none have come foward then it’s more likely to be blog specific. If this problem persists on my blog I will contact staff directly. :)

Maybe you’re just the first to notice it. Sounds like the recurring problem from last week.

Yes, I recall it too. Remarkably the phenomena seems to be currently “corrected” on my blog.

I was able to successfully save and publish my posts. However, whenever I log in, I see the word ‘edit’ next to my posts, that now appear under the summary list of posts created. Am I the only one seeing this under my login, or do others see that as well? I noticed that other users in the blogsite I belong to don’t have the word ‘edit’ on their posts. Did I do something wrong?

That word should always be there. You won’t see “edit” on the other users’ posts because you’re not allowed to edit their posts.
