Effects of downgrading from business plan

I’m considering buying the business plan before I start designing/setting up my blog. If I do so, then decide to downgrade. Will I lose what I’ve done, in terms of appearance?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • It depends on what you are downgrading to and what featured of Business you have used.

For example, Business includes free Premium themes. If you downgrade to a plan that does not include free Premium themes, your site will revert to a free theme. Or, if you have used Custom Design to stylize your site and you downgrade to a plan that does not include custom design, your site will lose those customization.

It is important to remember that none of your site’s content will be affected. Your posts and pages will still be there. But they may look different depending on things like I mention above.

@jessversteegblog Can I make a suggestion? If while you have the Business Plan you do find and use a Premium theme, I’d even suggest buying it separately before you downgrade in order to continue using it and avoid the issues that staff-ozmodiar mentioned.

Without the Business Plan, a Premium theme is a one-time purchase and you can use the theme for the life of your site on WordPressdotcom.

As staff-ozmodiar said, if you downgrade to the Premium Plan, you’ll still have the Premium theme and any CSS customizations you made.

If you downgrade to Personal or revert to the Free plan, your Premium theme will come with you, but any CSS customization will be removed.
