-
I’d like to use my Portfolio page as Static Front Page but I can’t get it to work. Can someone help me figure it out?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
You can’t use the portfolio, a dynamic page, as a static front page. Reason? It’s not a static page. However, any static page can display the portfolio by including portfolio shortcode in the content.
-
But the sales blub says “This template will display your portfolio projects and allow you to set your portfolio as your site’s home page.”
https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/blask/I’m struggling with the same problem.

svetlanasf – Eighties doesn’t come with a portfolio template, but you can try the portfolio shortcode instead to display your posts on a static page.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/portfolios/portfolio-shortcode/angelaheeley – you and svetlanasf are talking about two different themes, with different features. In Blask, you need to set your homepage to a static page, and then assign the Portfolio Page Template to it. (Though I see you’re using Baskerville on your primary site, not Blask.) If you need further assistance, please start your own thread and you’ll get help there. If you need staff help, add the modlook tag to the Tags area in the sidebar. Thanks!

@musicdoc1, @kathrynwp, thank you so much for your help! I was able to put in the shortcode and now have my portfolio on my home page :D

svetlanasf – great!
musicdoc1 – I missed the fact that you’d already mentioned the portfolio shortcode – oops, sorry about that!
