    Okay here are my answers

    JPEG photographs
    the latest Firefox and opera
I experience waiting for my JPEG to load and then getting an HTPP error message.

I have been using worpress.com for give or take 2 years and this is a new problem for me.

    Brian.

    Hi Brian,

Does this happen with all photographs you try to upload, or only some of them? If it’s only some images, do those images have any in common such as the file size, the kind of filename they have, the device you used to take those photos, etc.?

Also, are you using a WiFi connection when you upload those images? If so, do you run into the same issue if you try uploading from a different location or on a wired internet connection, or at a different time?

Those HTTP errors can be caused by a number of issues, such as file size, filename, and other file attributes, as well as your internet connection. If you’re having trouble only with certain images, or from certain locations or certain times of day, it would help to have more details about that so we can narrow down the cause.

    Hullo Happiness Engineer,
At first it was a rarity but now it is about 2 in 3.

    I only upload in JPEG

    I use the same camera.

I use Capture One Sony Express for RAW then export into GIMP in 8 bit TIFF convert it to GIMP RPG for the final touch ups and upload in JPEG

Yes it is wi-fi. But as I am located on the side of a sleeping volcano I really have no choice. (when we were first connected we had the longest wi-fi in SE Asia)

For a while I found shrinking the file size helped but now it makes no difference.

Just to point out the problem I have started a Weebly web page and I have no problem uploading shots that word press will not accept.

    Looking forward to your response.

    Brian

    Hi Brian,

Is there a wired connection or a different WiFi connection you can try uploading from? It’s entirely possible that these errors are coming from connection issues between your computer and the WordPress.com servers, and knowing if the issue is the same on a different network would help narrow down if that’s a factor.

Hi Rach, Believe me when I say I wish there was. But after 30+ years with M.S. I am where I am. Town is 14 k away by road and I don’t get into town very often.

As I have said I rarely have trouble with other sites that I upload to. Cambridge in Colour, Sony PlayMemories Online, and Weebly.

This makes me think in my troglodyte fashion that the problem is probably on your end.

Would it help if I tried uploading from my wife’s computer on the same wi-fi?

    Brian

    Hi Brian,

Sure, please go ahead and try uploading from your wife’s computer and see how that goes. If you run into trouble with certain files that you just can’t upload at all, on your computer or your wife’s computer, let me know and I can keep investigating those.

Hi Rach, I will give it a try.
