Elementor

Hi there, Its my first time using WordPress and my first time making a website. Though I’ve been investigating through articles and YouTube channels on the best possible means to accomplish the first website attempt/build. I just want to try WordPress free out with the free elementor plugin. I tried without elementor but no, I’m not going to do that. Elementor seems way easier to use. Please can the elementor plugin be allowed on the all the versions before business. I believe by granting the ability to use the elementor plugin without having to put down money for the business version will greatly improve the conversation rate for people upgrading to the desired packages. It’ll be a wise business move as it’ll make it 100 X easier for people and if its easy, well.. it’ll be a easier decision to upgrade. For me, I want to try wordpress out the easier way.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there!

WordPress.com is a shared environment and we do not allow installing third-party themes or plugins for security reasons. Business sites undergo a series of structural changes to allow that and that is why you’d need Business plan to install Elementor.

Also, bear in mind that we have a 30 days no-questions-asked refund policy if you’d like to give any plan a try.

Thank you for the feedback, That’s 4,500 ZAR/Rands in South Africa. The average salary in South Africa is R6,400. Its unlikely going to happen, I’ve just gone around our company asking individuals the following…. Hey, would you pay R4,500 to test a product? If I really want to we can create a survey in which we’ll have a 300 head count of survey answers. The +- 30 individuals I asked so far, the conversation rate was 0 % (zero). I understand the technical challenge of the current setup but that’s a huge cough to the wallet even though its refundable.

Yeah sure, WordPress metrics is targeting more the business aspect in South Africa. When WordPress starts looking for ideas in ways to increase margins, chuck me into the room with the wordpress strategy team.

Alternatively would you be able to direct me to way to demo wordpress and elementor without costs? Maybe installing wordpress locally on a virtual machine and manually installing elementor?

    Kind Regards,

  • Sure thing. You can use Elementor with the open source WordPress.org software (which is free).

Check out https://wordpress.org/support/forums/ for additional help with that version of WordPress.

Thank you, much appreciated. I’ve got a virtual machine running and busy installing wordpress on a ubuntu server.

Thanks a mill, and I still think there is room to improve the conversation rate by changing it the boarding process for complete novices or non technical folk.

Serious opportunity for wordpress, well my 5 cents your million dollar opportunity.

    Cheers
