Eliminate the "Viewer" role for private blogs in favor of "Follower"

I created a private blog to manage a project, but did not realize that when I add users as “viewers” I can’t see them as ordinary users! My research shows that that’s because this is a private blog — if it were a public blog I would have been able to choose the “Follower” role and see them as I do ordinary users, including the ability to promote them – I have to go back and re-invite someone in order to promote, and that is definitely confusing both for me and for the user who tends not to respond because she knows she is already a user and is then confused about why she hasn’t been promoted when I said I would do so!

I didn’t even have the option to invite people as “Followers” or I would have. I don’t understand why roles for private blogs ought to be different from roles for all other blogs and would suggest that this difference be eliminated.

    Thanks for considering!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I agree! I just now learned the difference, and there is much confusion with my viewers. Anyway to automatically make them all followers?
