Eliminating a default double space

I have a two stanza poem. I want each stanza single spaced. I want a double space only between the two stanzas. The default programming will not allow this. I am only provided all double space.

Hi Dobbs,
Hitting the Enter (Return) key will end the paragraph you are writing and start a new one. If you want to start a new line without creating a new paragraph, press the Shift key while hitting Enter.
