Eliminating Sidebar
-
Hello,
Is it possible to eliminate either the primary or the secondary sidebar from my website?I realized I would like for my website to be more minimalistic, and even though now I have widgets on both sidebars I would prefer to only use one sidebar and let the content in the middle expand to take the space of one of the sidebars.
When I look at the demo for my theme Oxygen, it is kind of set up in a broader way that suggests that some of the sidebar space is being utilized for other content.
Thank you!

If you are wanting a custom menu here is what you can do.

Hi!
If you want make disappear your right side widget area, you should use #tertiary selector, as this is its name:
#tertiary { display: none; }And then, how to transfer this space for the main content area? The fact is your theme currently has a broad margin to the left to assure not to overlap #tertiary area, so you could delete it.
#content { margin-right: 0; }Just one more thing to complete the strategy. Right now you have categories over your post images, but if you widen the content, categories will be outside. SO there are two options: (1) make your images bigger (adjust them to the 100% of your widen content area instead of fixing this 100% as the max-width) (2) float your categories to the left.
Bigger images:
.featured-image img { width: 100%; }Float categories links to the left:
.cat-links { left: 0px; right: auto; }I hope this helps you. Do not hesitate to ask for clarifications if needed :)
