eliminating unwanted comments by companies selling their goods

    I am unsure if my question has already been answered but I have been getting quite a bit of my comments made lately is nothing more than companies selling products. I’ve seen it before when I have ordered items from online where I had to enter in a code to help eliminate unwanted messages. Is this an option available to me on wordpress or can you help me understanding how I can eliminate these unwanted messages. Thank you. Leon Abbe

    Hi. Normally when you receive a comment from a WordPress.com user it wouldn’t be spam, but I believe this would qualify:

    So, what you want to do, is go to their blog and, in the upper left-hand corner, click on their blog name. A drop down menu will appear and click on “report as spam”. Fill out the form, include the comment, and let WP take care of it. In the meantime you can go to your Comments Page and mark the comment as spam.

    If you receive a comment trying to sell you something, it’s generally spam.
