If I upgrade to a premium account, what are my options as far as creating an email address for this site?
Thanks in advance.

WordPress.com does not provide an email service for blogs on their subdomains or on custom domains. Please see these support docs after your purchase a domain mapping upgrade:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/add-email/
https://en.support.wordpress.com/email-forwarding/In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying .wordpress.com subdomain blog to map from and it does not matter what that underlying .wordpress.com URL is. It does not have to match the domain URL. If you do not register a .wordpress.com blog URL first then the software supplies the dot whatever URL so you can proceed with your domain mapping purchase.
