Have you checked to make sure the email didn’t end up in your spam/junk mail folder? If you are using Gmail or Google Apps, here are some other things to check:

Hi there,
We did send the confirmation email for the new address, but it bounced back with an error that no such email address exists. Can you please check in your account settings that the new email address you entered doesn’t contain any typos. That’s usually the reason in these cases.

Yes, I had a typo. But when I corrected it to (email visible only to moderators and staff), the message was “this e-mail is already being used”. By whom? This is mine exclusively and I am not using it in any other WordPress site. What is the solution?

Log out of this account, then enter that email address on the password reset form:
https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
That will send you a password reset link you can use to log into the account using that email address and you’ll be able to see the sites and username of that account. But be sure you are logged out of your folknurse account first, and clear your browser cookies, or it won’t work.
